Fascial Stretch Therapy

Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) is a unique system that utilizes hands-on stretching techniques to dramatically improve flexibility, increase range of motion, and reduce the pain or discomfort of chronic tension and tight spots.

I offer my clients the benefits of my extensive experience as well as knowledge, skill, and intuition. (I’ve been doing FST since 2010 for at least 10 hours a week.) Chances are, whatever you have going on I’ve probably studied it and worked with it on several other bodies facing the same challenges.

It doesn’t hurt! During each FST session, you will experience visible and immediate gains in your range of motion while in a relaxed state. Even though I’m stretching you, your body is guiding me towards what angles we should target or how far to go into each stretch.

I teach my clients practical tools to help maintain their results and manage any recurring issues. I have a catalog of you tube videos for my clients and I’m always sharing new useful tips & tricks to feel or move better.

I want you to get the most out of your investment of time, money, and energy into working with me. I’m reliable and professional, you can expect me to be authentic and communicative in our interactions.

"You walk out of a session with Pippa feeling loose, limber and relaxed, like the energy just flows easily through your body. Having been through numerous FST sessions, I believe that it takes a skilled, trained and certified therapist, such as Pippa for any benefits to be reaped. I would recommend her to anyone." - Chris

How often do I need to come in for optimal results? or even just for maintenance?
It’s tough to say exactly without meeting and seeing you in person. It really depends on what you have going on and how your body responds to FST, as well as what else you’re doing.

I usually suggest planning on coming in for at least 3 sessions relatively closer together (like once a week or so) then we can re-evaluate and make a plan of action that works for you.
Is it safe to do this if I’m under my doctor, physical therapist, or chiropractor’s care?
Yes! Especially if you bring specific information about your diagnosis, current treatment, and any protocols or recommendations your other caregivers can provide. I’m also happy to communicate directly with them if you give and document consent.
What is your cancellation policy?
I have a 24 hour cancellation policy, unless it is directly related to COVID illness or exposure. This policy is in place to protect the business.
How do I pay?
You can pay via cash or any type of payment that Square accepts. Square works with any US-issued and most internationally-issued magstripe or chip cards bearing a Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, or UnionPay logo.
What are your COVID policies?
Basically, we will both be wearing masks covering our nose and mouth until further notice. Air purifiers and fans are on at all times to keep the air clean and flowing. Hand sanitizer and washing options are always provided.

This blog post covers everything is detail.
What if I think I’m too tight to get stretched, what should I do?
Come in anyways! Everyone has to start somewhere….
Once you experience your first session, you will see visible and immediate gains in your range of motion while in a relaxed state. I’m not going to push you to the point of strain or pain, and you are encouraged to tell me how you’re feeling as we go.
I’ve never been flexible, will this help or am I a lost cause?
There is always hope! and room for improvement!
How is this different than a massage?
Here are some facts that might help clarify the difference.
  • 47% of your flexibility is locked up in your joint capsule
  • 42% of your flexibility potential is in your fascia.
  • Stretching can reduce or eliminate tight muscles, stiff joints, and chronic pain.
  • Stretching improves your circulation.
  • Stretching makes you feel and look younger.
  • Stretching makes you stronger.
  • Assisted stretching works much better than self stretching.

While Massage and FST do offer some similar benefits, here are some of the main differences of FST:
  • You stay fully clothed throughout your session.
  • I focus on balancing out your entire fascial body, vs. focusing on specific areas.
  • A lot of your flexibility is accessed by working on the joint capsule, not just the muscles.
  • We use activation and releasing patterns, which improves your ability to stabilize as you release  or lengthen. (preventing injury)
How is this different than going to a franchise where it is cheaper to get stretch sessions?
My knowledge base, education, and years of hands on experience with FST as well as other modalities are what set me apart from a franchise. Chances are, whatever you have going on I’ve probably studied it and worked with it on several other bodies facing the same challenges. I also offer a different perspective, I’m often giving FST clients Pilates based exercises as a way to help maintain and maximize their results.

If you’re not able to come in for private FST sessions, there are still plenty of ways to work with me. Please check out my group classes, workshops, and/or videos.
"My range of motion has improved vastly; muscles and joints are no longer tight; and my body feels better balanced when exercising. Lower back pains disappeared. If I’d only met Pippa earlier, I could’ve avoided years of chiropractic care and tennis elbow surgery. When I leave an FST session I feel relaxed, balanced, less sore, more flexible, and my tightness is gone." - Thad
