What is Pilates?
Originally called “Contrology,” Pilates is an exercise system developed by Joseph Pilates that strengthens, stretches, and tones the body.

What happens in a session?
Working one-on-one, we can customize each session to your needs and aims. With more than 18 years of teaching experience, quality training, and lots of continuing education, I guide you through targeted exercises that engage multiple muscle groups at the same time.

Do we work on a machine or a mat?
Yes! I customize your sessions to your needs, using the Balanced Body Reformer Trapeze Table Combo Unit to:
  • Improve your core strength, flexibility, and body alignment to help prevent and heal injuries.
  • Build balance, control, and flexibility for better performance and quality of life.
  • Add variety and intensity to your workout for stronger, more toned muscles.
  • Get all the benefits of Pilates, even if you can’t get up and down to the floor, sit or stand unassisted, or even lie down flat on your back.
We can also work on the mat and with props for optimal results, and I incorporate a range of methodologies, including Body by Breath. Everything is set up to challenge, inspire, and build confidence as we move towards achieving your goals.

Is Pilates for me?
I believe that Pilates is for everyBODY! Whether you’re recovering from injury, a sports player hoping to optimize your performance, or you just want to get happier and healthier, I’m here to help you feel better and move with more ease, strength, and mobility.

"Pilates with Pippa is what I look forward to all week. After years of lifting weights at the gym and heavy cardio workouts, my body decided that routine just wasn't working anymore. I started looking for other ways to be healthy, fit and feel good. I found Pippa and from our first meeting, it was the place to be. She kindly showed me how to move my body to improve fitness, my core, and overall health for years to come.
Pippa is attentive 100% of the time. She doesn't look away or check her phone during our session. She is constantly watching to make sure you're using the right muscles and correct form.
Plus, Pippa is a joy to be around! Who could ask for more? The best investment I've made for overall health and fitness."

How often do I need to take Pilates to see results?
To build progress and momentum, I usually suggest a minimum of 1 private lesson and 1 group class or video a week. But, I am happy to work with clients on figuring out what consistently works with their busy lives.
How are private Pilates sessions different from a group class?
When you work with me one-on-one, we get to focus on your body and customize each session. You don’t have to remember any of your modifications, and each correction is just for you. This is the optimal way to make quick, substantial changes to how you move and how you feel.
In group classes, you’re still learning from a teacher directly, but the corrections and the exercises or stretches are more general, for everyone in the class. It’s still a safe lesson, but you will need to be personally responsible for modifying and adapting for your body.

I’ve never been “in shape.” Will Pilates help, or am I a lost cause?
Pilates can be adjusted and adapted to help improve any “shape” or any level of fitness. Starting with private sessions is a great way to build confidence as well as strength, muscle tone, balance, and mobility.
I feel out of place and intimidated at the gym. How is private Pilates different?
When you work with me one-on-one, there’s no one else in the room! I work out of a small private studio, where no one can see in the windows or through the door. My goal is to help clients feel comfortable and confident, not judged or intimidated.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please note that there is a 24-hour cancellation policy.
If you give less than 24 hours’ notice, you will be charged the full price of the session you booked.
Can I use my HSA or FSA funds to pay for this service?
Great news if you have an FSA or HSA: you may be able to get reimbursed for Pilates and Stretch Therapy. Click here to learn more.
should i tip?
Tipping is always appreciated but never expected.
It's more helpful to think of my services like a gym membership, rather than a hair cut.
