10/31/2023 Really Exciting News!!!Using your HSA or FSA for Pilates and Stretch Therapy
Great news if you have an FSA or HSA: you may be able to get reimbursed for Pilates and Stretch Therapy. HSAs and FSAs are savings accounts for medical expenses. They allow you to set aside money, pre-tax, for items and services that maintain or improve your health. And now, working with me falls into that bracket. I know how frustrating and complicated it can be to find out if you can use HSA or FSA funds for essential items that should qualify (like Pilates or Stretch Therapy). So I’m working with Truemed, a company devoted to driving HSA/FSA spending to products and services that are scientifically proven to improve metabolic health. Visit Truemed now to see if you qualify for HSA/FSA spending on my sessions. With just a few questions, Truemed determines if my services can help prevent or reverse a health condition. If so, they’ll send you a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN), and then you can book your session with me as normal. Save your receipts for all sessions and submit them along with your LMN to your HSA/FSA provider for reimbursement. The fee for obtaining the LMN is $30, which will be added to your first bill from me after you receive it. **Your LMN will be good for one year from the date of approval.** Ready to get started? Click here to find out if you qualify. Got questions? Get in touch and I’ll talk you through it. 8/2/2019 0 Comments Fall Group Classes at KRCFall 2019 class registration for Tempe residents begins on Monday, August 12th.

Here are some humorous "Hip Hinge Inteventions" that will make you laugh and help illustrate why hip hinges are so important. Some of you may even recognize Tracey Mallett of "Booty Barre" fame! 3/16/2018 0 Comments Fascia!!!!Want to Know More About Fascia?
One of my favorite experts just did a 2 part interview about fascia. It is very interesting- she covers a lot of ground and answers some very common questions in a clear, palatable manner. Have you ever considered adding in a quick warm up in the morning to prepare your body and mind for everyday life? Connecting to your body while moving and breathing with intention are powerful tools that can set you up for a successful, pain-free day. You don't have to have any fancy equipment or even do the same exact exercises every day to reap the benefits. I get feedback from many clients that they feel stiff or are in pain when they first get out of bed. I invariably as them if they are doing some specific movements (that they already know) to get their body moving, increase circulation, and ease any pain. The answer is usually no for a variety of reasons. The underlying issue is often that they aren't aware of their control of the situation. They aren't accessing the tools they posses to feel better and/or haven't made the conscious choice to use them. I recently went through a quick warm up sequence with a client who came in feeling terrible, uncomfortable, and frustrated with her body. We focused on breathing deeply, engaging her core, and included 3 or 4 really simple movements in a quadruped position. She was amazed at how much better she felt. She was even more amazed that she already knew all these movements and could have done them as soon as she started to feel stiff & achy. I didn't want her to memorize the sequence we did, I encouraged her to try to remember that she has skills and could use them as needed. Now I'm not saying that a short warm up will fix or heal everything, but I can safely say that it will help you to feel better (on many levels.) Try it and see! Click here to read that post. To put it very simply, red light stimulates the mitochondria in your cells which helps your body function better overall but has been used specifically to speed up healing, reduce pain & inflammation from arthritis, slow down the aging process, and calm skin conditions. (just to name a few uses, there are many more) I first learned about red light therapy at the Bulletproof Conference in 2016. Leanne Venier spoke and was also demonstrating her Redjuvenator lights. (To check out her presentation, scroll down and watch the video.) I loved the idea that she is a scientist that tapped into her creative side and ended up creating this useful, accessible tool. I was also very impressed by her ability to combine a variety of healing theories or modalities that are all based to working with the body's natural healing mechanism. I have been using one of Leanne's universal REDjuvenator boxes for a little over a year. It has been really helpful in reducing pain and inflammation related to old dance injuries, as well as any new issues that pop up. I haven't been consistent in using it every day on my face for anti-aging, but it has helped with a cold sore, skin issues, and a cut on my hand. It is definitely one of my main at-home resources for self care! There are some red light therapy facilities popping up, which is a great way to try it before you decide if it is something you want to invest in. Want to learn more Bulletproof life hacks?
