New Video-Standing Pilates Ring Workout

Standing Pilates Ring Workout
This video is a simple yet challenging standing full body workout using the Pilates Ring, which is a great prop to add resistance and enhance the feel of the exercises. I encourage all levels of experience to practice this workout as it includes balance work and applies Pilates principles to functional, everyday movements.

The video is designed to be practiced standing without assistance, but feel free to hold on to something stable to assist with balance.


This is a safe workout for those with Osteoporosis or Osteopenia, please take care to avoid curving in your upper back when putting the ring in place and don’t turn further than you would to back up your car when rotating.

Duration: Approximately 25 minutes

Standing Full Body Stretch & Release 


Find your ability to breathe deeply, get your whole body moving, and release tension in about 15 minutes.


All you need for this full body stretch sequence is a little bit of space and a towel, if you feel balance challenged you may want to have a chair or wall nearby.


You can do this as a movement break, or as a warm up for other activities where you want to be connected to your breath and ready to move.


Adjust your reps & range of motion as needed.

New Video Out on You Tube!

*You might recognize these as "Tick Tock" or "Windshield Wiper Knees"


This exercise quickly unwinds and releases your hips and lower back, while sneakily activating your core & opening your shoulders.


You can do this as a quick movement break, or as a warm up for other activities where you want to be strong in your core and mobile in your hips & lower back.


Adjust your reps & range of motion as needed, please be sure to focus on reaching your knees away rather than twisting down to the floor. Reduce the size of your twists or number of reps if it feels like too much.

At only 11 minutes long, there’s a lot of bang for your buck in this hip & core workout.


If you’ve done it in class, you know exactly what I mean!


Did you know that better/increased pelvic stability and hip mobility can help reduce lower back stiffness and pain?


It also helps with balance, knee pain, and posture.


You can do this with or without the resistance loop (or tie up a theraband.)


You may want a pillow or rolled up towel for underneath your head to support your neck and shoulders.


If you feel any pressure on the bottom hip, try placing some padding like a towel, extra mat, or blanket underneath you.
