Happy February!

I recently heard a great quote, and it seems especially relevant for February.

“Don’t use exercise to merely shed pounds. Use exercise to feel alive, and to be in love with your body.” (psychologyofeating.com)

 I couldn’t agree more! (unless I changed the word exercise to movement) As a retired dancer, TRUST ME, I really understand the pressure to be thin and toned. I also experience the continuously evolving stiffness, aches, and pains as everyone else.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could all love our bodies and feel alive, no matter what our “fitness level” happens to be?
This month, let’s all see if we can use movement to connect, refresh, and love these bodies we get to live in!

Wall Bridges
Bridging with your feet against the wall helps you activate your hamstrings & glutes, mobilize your lower back, and activate your core! Check this new you tube video out, it is just under 5 minutes long and is a great exercise to add into your repertoire. 

The Spinewinder Series
The Spinewinder series is a wonderful way to open up and mobilize your hips, pelvis, lower back, and spine. It is a really effective and worthwhile stretch series on it’s own but is also an excellent, safe warm up for the other more focused or intense stretch videos. For those of you who take my group classes, you will recognize this series as it is often included by popular demand!
